At Bunches, we think it’s important to do our part for the environment. From making a plastic-free range to using ethical flowers, we are always trying to reduce our waste and plastic usage.

One of the ways we do this is by using envelopes with no plastic window, as this is an unnecessary bit of plastic. However, you may still receive envelopes from other companies that have a little window to show your address.

Whilst you can pop these in the recycling bin without needed to separate them from the paper, you can also upcyle your envelopes by making a pressed flower bookmark!

All you need to make these bookmarks are an envelope, pressed flowers, cellotape, and some glue.

1. Assemble your equipment.

2. Cut around the plastic window of the envelope, leaving a paper border around it which you can decorate (if you want!) Top tip: if you cut from the seam of the envelope, you will have a back for the bookmark ready to go! If your envelope has a patterned interior which you don’t want to have in the background of your bookmark, you can cut out a section of the envelope to match the shape and size of the window

3. Place the plastic window on a flat surface, with the side you don’t want showing facing towards you. Arrange your pressed flowers on the window.

4. Carefully cellotape the flowers to the window so they don’t move within the bookmark.

5. Glue the back section of the bookmark, and press it onto the front section so it sticks together.

6. You now have a lovely pressed flower bookmark!
