Results day: the best florals and the best photos

Whether it’s GCSEs, A-Levels, or your degree, results day is a big deal. Months (even years!) of hard work culminate in a piece of paper with those all-important grades.

Celebrating hard work and achievement is important, especially when the results signify the beginning of a new chapter. Flowers are a wonderful gift for those getting results or graduating, especially as celebrations usually end up on social media nowadays!

Below we look at our top 5 hand-tied bouquets. Not only do they arrive pre-arranged as a bouquet, but they’re perfect to show your loved one how proud of them you are (and they’ll also look nice on the Instagram grid!)

Please note that many of our flowers are sent in bud to prolong their life, so we recommend ordering them to arrive a few days prior to the big day itself so they look their best for photos!

  1. Garden Mosaic

Combining blue Delphinium, peach Roses, lush green foliage with vibrant cerise Spray Roses, this colourful combination is perfectly representative of your loved one’s bright future!

Bold and beautiful, this bouquet will look great against plain dark or light clothes – perfect to hold in a graduation gown!

  2. Rainbow Galaxy
This stunning bouquet ties together pink Roses, Alstroemeria and Spray Carnations accompanied by Eucalyptus and fun 'rainbow' Gypsophila.

Its gentle colours are incredibly versatile, so can match nearly any outfit. Whether your loved one is wearing white, blue, green, red, black, purple, or even pink itself, this bouquet will compliment them perfectly in photos.

  3. Blushing Meadow
This pale purple and pink medley is a divine combination of Carnations, Lisianthus and a graceful Rose. Graceful and elegant, this bouquet is certain to charm your giftee and their photo-viewers alike!

The soft colours of this bouquet would go perfectly with blue, pink, and purple outfits. It would also be an excellent contrast to the sharp black of a graduation robe.

  4. Summer Roses and Freesias
Show your loved one that there are sunny days ahead with this gorgeous golden bouquet! The joyous and cheerful collection of sunshine yellow Roses and elegant white Freesias, with yellow Alstroemeria and lush Parvi greenery, is sure to delight!

The Roses and Freesias will compliment blues, purples, light pinks, white and black, or you can match them with more neutral, earthy tones (such as dark green, browns, and pale orange) for a harmonious blend of colours.

  5. Serendipity
Classic, elegant, and beautiful, you simply can’t go wrong with Serendipity. The snow-white petals of the Calla Lilies, Lisianthus, and a Rose complemented by Freesias, Carnations, and Snapdragons with Eucalyptus greenery are perfect for the celebrations ahead.

Not only will they stun your giftee, but white goes with anything; it truly is the perfect bouquet to celebrate results and graduations.

Top tips for photos

Capturing special moments is important, as these memories last a lifetime. This is easier than ever to do now that everyone has a camera in their pocket!

If you want to take the best pictures of your loved one and their bouquet, our Social Media Manager Kim and our Videographer Reece have some tips below.

For photos of people, Kim suggests:

“For vertical shots, flip your phone upside down so the lens is closer to the ground. This creates interesting angles and unique perspectives.

“Avoid using zoom on your phone as doing this lowers image quality. Instead, move closer for a sharper photo.

“Hold your phone with both hands and keep your elbows close to your body (ideally rest your elbows against your stomach) for a more stable photo.”

For florals, Reece says:

“Don’t be afraid to try a few things! When it comes to flowers, there are two ways you can do it. Sometimes you want to get close, as seeing all of the textures and gradients can be lovely. However, other times you might want to take a step back and see what the flower looks like as a whole.

“Use exposure on the flower so it stands out. If the background seems a bit dark, that’s ok, as you’re only going to be looking at the flower anyway! However, if the background is too bright, it can wash out a lot of the details in the flower.

“Also think about the composure. If you can get a 3 by 3 grid up on your phone or camera, it can really help with lining things up or drawing focus to certain parts of the flower by lining it up in the middle square.”
