Bunches MAD: Meet John

At Bunches, our aim is, and has always been, to give back. That’s why every year, Bunches donates 10% of all its profits to charity, both in the UK and abroad. This means that every time you buy some of our beautiful blooms, you’re directly making a difference to someone’s life.

Bunches supports a number of micro-enterprise projects in Malawi through our charity partner Links, who connect people, confront poverty and create potential.

We previously wrote about Links’ Africa Hub, which is intended to make Links even more strategic and sustainable, as well as allowing them to host conferences on empowering communities in holistic ways.

The Africa Hub is also committed to helping its own community through hiring and committees.

One of The Africa Hub’s employees is John, who has now been the full-time lead farmer at the Links Africa Hub for over a year. He is a local senior gentleman with a wealth of practical experience in crops and cow husbandry.

John has been looking after the two dairy cows using an efficient milking machine, and has also been developing organic farming techniques such composting and mulching. Because of his work, The Africa Hub have seen an increase in yield and a drop in the use of fertiliser.

John’s work helps him supports his family and extended family, and that is partly thanks to you, our wonderful customers.

Thank you – every time you buy from Bunches, you directly make a  difference to someone’s life.
