Colombia - Children at Christmas

Perfect Pink

With donations from Bunches, Links International helped to arrange a christmas party for poor chilodren in Columbia. They enjoyed a meal and games together, unwrapped presents, sang Christmas carols and presented short dramas. It was a great evening with lots of fun had by all as can be told by all the smiling faces in the pictures below taken at the event.

You can read about other Bunches charitable work on our charity page.

Philippines Housing Update

Seville Orange Gift Bag
Bunches is helping this Links International project by providing funds for building materials and labour to build 10 new wooden homes in Tondo, The Philippines, providing a new safe and clean living for families who have previously lived in cramped make-shift homes made from plastic bags and recyled rubbish. Below are some pictures from the project where work is now well underway.

Mothers Day 2010

Seville Orange Gift Bag

We're now into our busiest week of the year here at Bunches HQ. We have extended our opening times to cope with the mass of orders and our factory is brimming at the seams with colourful blooms ready to be carefully packed and posted to Mum's across the U.K in time for Mothering Sunday on 14th March.

We will be sending out an incredible 50,000 bouquets of flowers this week, which means a lot of happy Mums, Grandmas and Great-Grandmas this weekend! Bunches has also supplied bouquets to the winner and runner's up in GMTV's 'Britain’s Best Mum' competition running all this week on ITV1, so keep your eyes peeled and you might just see one of our lovely bouquets on the telly!

If you haven't sorted flowers for your Mum yet, remember to order before 4pm on Wednesday 10th March for delivery before Mothering Sunday.

Here is a little peak at our factory this week...

Bunches on the News!

Special Bouquet

Today has been an exciting (but very busy) day here at Bunches, as we have had a presenter and crew from ITV1's Central News visit our factory in Newstead. They were here to interview our MD Dani and film our talented staff making our beautiful Mother's Day bouquets - Louisa the presenter even tried her hand at making one herself and found it was much more difficult than it looks!

If you live in the Midlands, look out for the feature tomorrow evening on the 'Central Tonight' programme where we will be on at around 6.15pm!

Heart-warming Thank You's!

Sweet Cherry

Every week we receive many letters of thanks from customers who have been so happy with the flowers and service they have received from Bunches. However, when we surprised 21 of our loyal customers with a luxury platinum bouquet to celebrate our 21st Birthday in February, we didn't expect the large amount of cards in return to say thank you.

It's so lovely hearing from all of our customers, but here is one poem we received that made us all smile:

"Platinum is richer than Gold,
Well that's what I've always been told,
So, did the Sherriff of Notts send this gift,
To give my heart a breathtaking lift?
No, no, not him quite a different 'Bunch',
The sort to give flowers and take a girl out to lunch,
And when they answer the phone with warm sounding voices,
They help you at once to sort out the choices,
So thanks for my platinum floral bouquet,
They are glorious and truly have made my day!"

Fragrant Freesias

Regular readers will know about how Bunches are helping to support the Beech Boys Water Aid Atlantic Challenge, the extract below from their Transatlantic Blog just goes to show that just because you're out in the middle of the Atlantic doesn't mean you can forget Mother's Day!

"We did remember it was Mothers Day! Sat phone did the job enabling us to speak to our Mums, while flowers sent from Bunches also helped pass on the message of appreciation to our Mums, they are brilliant!"

Calorie-free East Gifts

Pink Sorbet

For many of us, healthy eating New Year's resolutions are easily broken by chocolate temptation during Easter. Whether a loved one is watching their weight or just not a chocolate fan, flowers make a perfect Easter gift alternative to enjoy guilt-free - and are sure to last a lot longer than eggs!

Here at Bunches we've got a great selection of floral gifts which are sure to create a smile without compromising the calorie count! The 'Delightful Daffodils' bouquet is the essence of spring which includes 20 delicately scented stems with vibrant yellow buds. The 'Flight of Fancy' bouquet includes mixed colour Carnation stems together with yellow Freesias completed with 3 handmade butterflies which are really long lasting, meaning they can be enjoyed for weeks after Easter Sunday has passed.

Not to forget chocoholics who just can't resist a little indulgent treat this Easter, we're also offering mini chocolate eggs as an optional add-on gift during Easter week – yummy!

Pink Sorbet

It was fundraising time in the office again on Friday 19th March! We decided to help a good cause by dressing up in sports gear to support the Sport Relief charity weekend. I'm sure you will all enjoy looking at the team making fools of themselves all in the name of charity!
