Welcome to the Bunches Blog!

Well today I break up for maternity leave, as our little girl is due on the 20th May. All the Bunches team have bets on her being named after a flower such as Poppy, Daisy, Lily, Blossom, Petal etc... well, all will be revealed in a few weeks! It's a very odd feeling, being MD of a business and going on maternity leave, I simply can't imagine not working, particularly as it's something I love doing... however I've been told by friends that babies keep you pretty busy! I'm due back to work in October but given that my Husband works here, I have many friends here and I only live down the road I'm not sure I'll keep away all that long! One thing I'm confident of is Bunches is being left in the hands of a very capable team who'll continue to ensure that we offer a wonderful service that creates many smiles across the UK.

This year Bunches entered the local business awards for the first time, which is run by Nottinghamshire County Council and the Evening Post newspaper. We didn't really know what to expect when we submitted our entry a couple of months ago, but we are very happy to announce that we have reached the finals!

Bunches is up against some tough local competition to be crowned 'Nottinghamshire Company of the Year' however we're confident that we stand in good stead! Details of the finalists will be published in tonight's issue of the Nottingham Evening Post and the overall winner will be announced in early July... watch this space to see how we did!

As well as our thousands of customers in the U.K, we have many more across the globe who order flowers through our website for their loved ones back home in Britain.

Australia and New Zealand are popular overseas destinations for our customers, and what better way to let them know that you are thinking of them that sending a Bunches bouquet? We recently received a lovely letter from Mrs. Thompson in Durham who was sent a Chelsea bouquet at Mother's Day...

'My daughter in Australia uses your company to send me flowers because of the feedback and comments from me. I am always happy, sometimes delighted, but Mother's Day was the best yet! Six tall Roses, Stargazer Lilies, Chrysanthemums , Gypsophila and greenery. The perfume is drifting through my home – Love it, Love it, Love it! Thank you so much.'

The clocks have finally gone forward, the weather is (sort of) improving and there seems to be Daffodils springing up pretty much everywhere at the moment, so we're getting ready for another predicted BBQ summer here at Bunches.... who are we to argue with the weatherman?

We're not wandering round the office in flip flops and novelty Hawaiian shirts just yet, but we are developing our exciting new summer range of floral gifts. Without giving too much away, expect vivid citrus shades and exotic houseplants this summer which are sure to put you in the holiday mood! Our new range launches in the first week of June, so watch this space for more info!
