Petals

"Its time to play the music, its time to light the lights, its time to raise the curtain..." So began the opening credits to a famous TV show, crammed with colourful characters. So then, the perfect theme for the Bunches office!

That's right, the day is finally here. After months of planning and what seems like several tons of chocolate eaten, Moko (our little brother company) is all systems go. It's really quite surprising what goes into launching a new brand, but it's fair to say that we're pretty pleased with ourselves at the moment.

Our first batch of knee wobblingly good chocolates are now ready to go and just waiting to be consumed. The tricky bit is resisting them ourselves. You can help us in our plight by ordering some right away (sorry for the shameless sales pitch)!

If you want to check the site out, simply go to www.mokochocolates.co.uk!

Beginners guide to Houseplants

Petals

It's probably no surprise that we have lots of plants in the Bunches office - they are a great way of brightening up your home or desk (especially during the so-called British summertime!) As I discovered this week with the sad loss of the marketing office Calla Lilly plant, even with the best intentions (and lots of watering) many plants simply don't survive if they have been given the wrong environment or care. So here are a few useful 'hard to kill' houseplant care tips for those who like me, are not particularly green-fingered...

Azalea - This plant loves bright light, cool temperatures and regular watering, making an ideal gift for someone who is a bit enthusiastic with the watering can! It dislikes drafty areas and drying out, with brown leaves a sign the plant is under watered and firm yellow leaves means the water being used is too hard.

Peace Lily - loves being regularly watered and having leaves regularly 'washed' with a damp cloth. It also dislikes direct sunlight - if your Peace Lily is reluctant to flower it is best being moved to a darker spot.

Phalaenopsis Orchid - This plant loves a light spot and a humid environment created by misting with water regularly. It dislikes long term exposure to bright sunlight and over-watering (a drink once a week is sufficient for a happy Orchid plant.)

If you want to find out more about caring for these plants, have a look at our flower care page

Petals

The Bunches office is suspiciously quiet at the moment, and there are lots of foreign sweet treats in the canteen which can only mean that the holiday season is now in full swing! Thousands of people will be jetting off abroad for some guaranteed sunshine or enjoying a U.K 'staycation' over the next few weeks.

We all look forward to a much needed break this time of year, and often rely on friends and family to hold the fort by house-sitting, dog sitting or looking after the garden whilst we're away enjoying ourselves. What better way to thank them for their help than sending a beautiful Bunches bouquet..?

We have a great selection of summer flowers available which make perfect thank you gifts, whatever your budget. Why not send the new feminine 'Parisian Pink' bouquet which includes white Alstroemeria, lilac, pink and purple Spray Carnations, framed with subtle white Gypsophila? Great value at £16.99, and if you quote promotional code '10AUG' at the checkout before the end of August you can save 10% on your order!

Oh, and don't forget to add a handmade 'Thank you' greetings card for only £2.99 to make your gift even more special!

Happy Holidays!
